As part of the national 2.6 Challenge to help Save the UK’s Charities, we had our first ever Sunday Funday Virtual Sports Day on Sunday 26th April – what should have been the date of the 40th London Marathon. Over 100 people took part and raised over £2,100!
It was a day full of activities put on by local fitness instructors and suitable for all fitness levels and all activities were based around the numbers 2.6 or 26.
The Covid-19 pandemic has had a catastrophic effect on UK charities leading to an estimated loss of £4 billion for the sector. Charities, like littlelifts, depend on income from fundraising events and thousands have been cancelled or postponed including our clubbercise event, golf day, fashion show, cupcake masterclass…the list goes on and on! Sunday 26th April would have seen us raise funds at the London Marathon thanks to our superstar runners and it provides a huge opportunity for other charities to receive funds and awareness.
A massive thank you to all the fantastic fitness instructors who took part and made this event possible, and everyone who took part in one, two, or all sessions (like Oa did!). We really can’t thank you enough for your support.
