littlelifts founder recognised as one of Norfolk’s most inspiring women

A big cheer for our very own, Oa Hackett, founder of littlelifts, who was recently named one of Eastern Daily Press’ 100 most inspiring women.

EDP readers have been sending in nominations for the past three months and the top 100 were chosen by a judging panel made up of sponsors, Adnams, BDO, Birketts, Norwich High School for Girls and Spire Norwich Hospital.

The judges were inspired by Oa’s story and charitable work, and alongside 99 other inspiring women from Norfolk, Oa attended a special dinner at Brasteds restaurant last week, to celebrate their achievements and the contribution they make to Norfolk life.

As many of you will already know, at the age of 28, Oa, was diagnosed with primary breast cancer. Leading up to and during her chemotherapy treatment, Oa was fortunate to have a support network of friends and family to help her along the way, many of whom lifted those down days with a few little treats to relieve some of the side effects she experienced. The impact these small tokens had on Oa’s wellbeing was huge, and so the concept of ‘littlelifts’ was born.

Oa said: “I feel really touched to be included on the list. It was a complete surprise to receive the news and I feel so honoured to be alongside so many inspiring women. Thank you to those who nominated me, I’m just delighted that this type of publicity is such a great springboard for littlelifts. Thank you also to all the other strong and inspiring women (and men) who have supported me and littlelifts over the last few years. I couldn’t have done it without you!”

HUGE congratulations to all the other women on the list – you are all amazing. Find out who the 100 most inspiring women in Norfolk of 2019 are here.
