Support for women with secondary breast cancer

We currently work with five NHS Trusts across Norfolk and Suffolk and cannot thank the Oncology and Breast Care Teams enough for making sure our littlelifts boxes are given to women facing chemotherapy treatment for breast cancer.

When we launched our first hospital partnership at the NNUH in November 2017, our support was offered to primary breast cancer patients only. Since then our partnerships have grown across Norfolk and Suffolk and we’ve provided many women facing chemotherapy treatment for primary breast cancer with a littlelifts box. But we wanted to do more. In response to feedback from our hospital partners and women facing chemotherapy treatment for secondary breast cancer, we knew it was a must for these women to receive a littlelifts box and now they can. We officially launched this special news at the NNUH on August 20th with deliveries of our new littlelifts boxes happening over the next couple of weeks to our hospital partnerships.

This is what some of our hospital partnerships have to say:

Rachel Clifton, Macmillan Oncology Breast Nurse Specialist, at Ipswich Hospital is a huge advocate for secondary breast cancer support and sees first hand the benefit our boxes have to her patients:

“I felt women with secondary breast cancer should be seen in the same light as those with primary breast cancer. They deserve a boost too and will experience the same side effects of chemotherapy treatment as ladies with primary breast cancer, and that’s what these lovely boxes are all for.”

Mark Davies, Chief Executive at NNUH, says:

“We are proud to be a supporter of this important local charity which helps our patients through their cancer journey. It is very pleasing to see littlelifts expanding to other hospitals and to know that more women will be benefitting from their thoughtful approach.”
