On the 23rd of April 2025 our amazing volunteers Alfie and Maria set off from Little Lifts HQ on a delivery to Southend and Basildon Hospital with our 30,000th Box.
We enjoyed spending time as a team with our volunteers to reflect on what this milestone means to us, before proudly waving them off.
It’s hard to believe just over 7 years ago Oa was packing Boxes around her kitchen table, and now we have been able to support people affected by breast cancer with over 30,000 Boxes! That’s why we like to call ourselves small but mighty!
Behind the idea of Little Lifts was Oa, inspired by the kindness of her friends and family when she faced her own breast cancer treatment. We are proud to continue spreading that kindness through our community across the UK.
In the last 4 months alone, we have gifted over 4,000 Little Lifts Boxes and we hope to reach 10,000 people in 2025.
Our work continues to be inspired by the support Oa received during her breast cancer treatment. We want every person receiving treatment for breast cancer to feel prepared, thought about and loved.
That’s why Little Lifts Gift Boxes are jam-packed with practical items and mood boosting goodies to help alleviate the side effects of treatment.
We have three Boxes; our original Box – the Chemotherapy Box, our Radiotherapy Box and our Surgery Box.
Each Box is curated by people with experience of breast cancer, with hand picked items to help with the specific side effects of each treatment. Our volunteers help to ensure that every Box is hand packed with love, they even add a hand signed note so our beneficiaries know who was behind their Box.
We have ten hospital partnerships across Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Cambridge. Here, anyone receiving chemotherapy or radiotherapy treatment for breast cancer will receive a Little Lifts gift Box automatically.
Across the UK we support people through our Little Kindness Fund. Anyone undergoing surgery, chemotherapy treatment or radiotherapy treatment for breast cancer outside of our partner hospitals can apply for a Little Lifts gift Box free of charge online and we post their Box to their door.
We also work with hospitals across the UK and have developed our online portal meaning medical teams can apply on behalf of their patient.
Each and every one of you plays a part in our mission to ensure that everyone in the UK receiving treatment for breast cancer receives a Little Lifts Box, helping them to feel more prepared, supported, and not alone.
Today, we want to say a HUGE thank you for believing in us and for helping us to continue spreading kindness.
We cannot thank you all enough for helping us in our mission to spread support, love and kindness. Special thanks to Cards n Things for supplying our brilliant balloons.
