We loved hosting our Little Lifts Community Club boat trip, where we spent the afternoon on the Norfolk Broads. Each of the 12 people attending this special event had been affected by breast cancer, whether that was directly or through supporting a partner or loved one through treatment. The afternoon gave our community the chance to connect with others, share their stories, and enjoy a little time in nature together.
We started at the Nancy Oldfield Trust, where the group split into two: one heading out on their electric motorboat, White Admiral, the other on a beautiful Falmouth Bass sailing boat. The sailing boat gave those who fancied a go the chance to take the helm — for some, it was a real confidence booster as they sailed the group around Barton Broad. After an hour, everyone then came together again on the floating pontoon for tea, cake, and conversation, before swapping boats so the whole group could have a turn at sailing if they wished.
