breast cancer charity challenge teams at Langley school

Celebrating our student breast cancer charity challenge teams!

Our first School Challenge 250 teams enjoyed a celebration of the funds raised to support people affected by breast cancer.

We loved celebrating these amazing students who have worked together to help us support more people affected by breast cancer.

A huge well done to our hardworking teams from Langley School; The Booberries and Breast Foot Forward. Who took on fundraisers from bake sales, a Christmas Fayre and movie night to Valentine’s Day chocolates, a quiz night and an art exhibition!

Our teams gave up hours of their time raising vital awareness and funds for our small charity, proving what can happen with £250, creativity, teamwork, and a lot of determination!

Their target was £2,500 (the same as our corporates!) and we have been blown away by their incredible hard work… exceeding this target!

A wonderful example that a little kindness can go a long way! Proving what we can do when amazing people come together to support a common cause.

School Challenge 250 is a fantastic way for students to take on a unique entrepreneurial challenge, helping to grow their skills and raise vital funds to support people affected by breast cancer.

To take part teams are asked to get creative with their fundraising, turning £250 into £2,500 in an academic year (or custom timeframe), with help from our Little Lifts fundraising team.

“Challenge 250 has helped me to connect with the local community and help fundraise for such an important cause! I have learnt so much about what it takes to organise multiple events, which is vital to my future career path. I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience and would recommend it to anyone wanting to make a difference, no matter how big or small!” – Etholle

“Taking part in the 250 challenge was such a rewarding experience. It helped me build stronger teamwork and communication skills while planning fun events with my friends like our pub quiz. Knowing all the money we have raised is going to directly help people and seeing how many people we have helped support is amazing.” – Evie

“Challenge 250 provided an incredible opportunity to raise awareness and support for those affected by breast cancer through organising events. It also allowed me to gain valuable experience in fundraising and management, offering a unique learning experience beyond school. Through planning events as a team, we developed creativity and collaborative skills while making a meaningful impact. The challenge has been truly rewarding.” – Corlisa

Celebrating our teams!

Our teams got to experience the real impact of their work as they packed breast cancer gift Boxes for people undergoing surgery.

We also enjoyed some hot drinks, cake and gave out certificates and trophies to acknowledge their amazing work.

“We had two teams enter the 250 challenge with Little Lifts in 2024. Both teams thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and the positive impact it could have on others’ lives. During the year, the students involved were able to develop their leadership, communication and management skills; all key skills that will be transferrable in their next steps after Sixth Form. The support from Anya and Shopie helped the teams ensure that the events planned were a success, the highlights being a Pub Quiz and an Art Exhibition, two events we would never have ran without this initiative. In summary, the challenge allows students to develop key skills while supporting a fantastic charity.” – Leigh Sitch, Assistant Head and Head of Sixth

Our super supporters in action - The 'Capturing Courage' Art Exhibition

The students held the Capturing Courage Exhibition in February, marking World Cancer Day. The evening was a wonderful event, showcasing amazing artwork, giving voice to individuals’ stories, raising awareness and funds.

Thank you for your kindness!

“We cannot thank the students and staff at Langley School enough for choosing to support our small charity.

We thoroughly enjoyed celebrating the students and their successes, showcasing what can be achieved through teamwork, dedication and kindness. A huge well done to the teams who have been brilliant to work with, as well as the staff who have kindly supported their fundraising efforts.

We are inspired by their hard work, creativity and commitment to making a difference. It has been brilliant to offer this opportunity, and we look forward to supporting future students in building their skills, engaging with their local communities and spreading kindness.”

The Impact of Fundraising Support

Little Lifts provides carefully curated gift Boxes to people receiving breast cancer treatment across the UK. Our Boxes are jam-packed with items to help alleviate the emotional and physical side effects of treatment.

With the support of these amazing students we can gift continue gifting carefully curated Little Lifts Boxes. Behind each Box is a person, we hope feels more prepared, supported and loved as they begin treatment for breast cancer.
