Breast Cancer Charity Volunteer Appreciation Awards

We recently held our second Volunteer Appreciation Awards to celebrate our amazing volunteers that help us to support people with breast cancer.

What an evening celebrating our superstar volunteers! We couldn’t wait to host wonderful event again this year after the reception of last years event.

Once again the evening was full of love, hugs and laughter… as well as well-deserved recognition. A lovely opportunity to celebrate their dedication, love and care.

Our volunteers are quite literally the backbone of Little Lifts, our small but mighty charity would not be what it is without this incredible bunch. They help us in so many different ways, from practical support, packing Boxes, driving our van and assisting at events to emotional support providing advice and a big smile at the Little Lifts HQ. We could not do what we do without them!

This event was a lovely opportunity to celebrate the dedication, love and care our volunteers bring to our small but mighty charity!

We started the evening with refreshments and talks from our Little Lifts team; founder Oa and trustee Jill. Our Operations team presented the awards; Operations and Support Manager Lizzie and Operations and Support Executives Frannie and Hannah.

We love getting our volunteers all in one room together. They all visit Little Lifts HQ on different days so events like this are very special for everyone to connect. After the awards we enjoyed refreshments and some tasty treats.

This year we created something special, a Volunteer Yearbook, which all of our volunteers could keep, acknowledging their individual and collective contributions so they know just how appreciated and valued they are. Each person had their own line which were fun and inspired by the unique and wonderful attributes every volunteer brings to Little Lifts HQ. Our team loves coming together to work on this project. A big thank you to Hollinger for supporting our Yearbooks.

This year we also wanted to acknowledge some additional outstanding contributions, acknowledging our volunteers who have:

  • Most Boxes Packed (407+): Christine Gardiner
  • Most Hours Volunteered (125 hours+!): Christine Gardiner
  • Most Funds Raised (£10,000+): Amy Bobbins
  • Most Trips in the Van: Graham Upson
  • Most Stock Sorted: Shaun Green
  • Above and Beyond Award: Donna Wicks

Each of these individuals were welcomed to receive a certificate. After this we invited each volunteer to receive their yearbook and goodie bag, which included a newly designed Little Lifts pin badge and treats, whilst our Ops Team gave them a fun introduction.

All of this would not have been possible without our incredible Platinum Sponsors; Poultec. Thank you for kindly hosting us for the evening! We cannot thank you all enough for your incredible work, love and care. It was an absolute pleasure to bring you all together and we cannot wait to host all of our superstars again next year!
