Little Lifts and its impact are ever growing and expanding because of the vision of our founder, Oa. Little Lifts began around Oa’s kitchen table with a group of people inspired by the idea to provide practical and emotional support to people undergoing breast cancer treatment. Until late 2020, team Little Lifts consisted of two people – Oa & Kay. In their third year, despite challenges because of the pandemic, they delivered 754 Boxes. Fast forward to 2023, and we have exceeded this figure within the first 8 weeks of the year. Our small, but mighty, charity has grown and so has our Box distribution and impact.
Oa reflects on what it means to have delivered 10,000 Boxes. This is not something to be looked at as a figure or a statistic, but rather to reflect on the lives of each person we have reached. With each Box is a beneficiary, a person, with loved ones, going through breast cancer treatment. All 10,000 Boxes have supported someone practically and emotionally, giving them a little lift when they needed it most.
Our incredible community enable us to do what we do. Behind every Box there is a volunteer packing it, a beneficiary offering their experience to help guide the curation of products, supporters spreading the word, ambassadors, patrons, fundraisers, donors, corporate sponsors, hospital partners, our small but mighty team and trustees.
Each person in our community supports us in gifting Boxes. Community is at the core of Little Lifts, and it represents the long-lasting impact of a Little Lifts Box. Our beneficiaries, their loved ones and supporters remain active in our community, forming friendships, becoming voices and volunteers. It is one that spreads support, love, and kindness; that is the result of a Little Lifts Box.
