Breast cancer charity Operations and Support Manager, Lizzie

Meet Lizzie from our small charity team

We are celebrating each member of our wonderful, small but mighty team. This month, we interviewed our Operations and Support Manager, Lizzie.

Lizzie has volunteered with us since the very beginning, but joined the team in December 2022. We asked her questions below, so that you can learn more about her and her role.

What’s your favourite way to start the workday?

“Before work, some form of exercise to get the blood pumping for the day and hopefully a smooth trip in on the A47. When at work, with a nice cup of coffee, catching up with the Little Lifts gang, reviewing my emails and actions for the day. Then, a bonus is getting to welcome the volunteers.”

What does a typical day look like for you?

“My days can change depending on what is going on operationally, but usually involve ordering and checking stock, liaising with hospitals, planning community events, and operational future planning.”

What do you love the most about your role?

“I really love planning and hosting community events, such as our retreat and our volunteer get-togethers. I also enjoy understanding how we can make systems and procedures work to the optimum in the workplace.”

What's one work task you secretly enjoy more than you should?

“Checking our Box distribution numbers add up, it’s a weekly Friday task that can cause me a headache some weeks, but I LOVE it when the numbers add up!”

What does Little Lifts mean to you?

“‘A community of kindness’. Little Lifts, for me, really harnesses human beings’ good nature; it encourages people to think beyond the individual and appreciate the importance of the power of community and connection.”
