Here’s to our amazing marathon runners Anna, Jack, Nick, Sarah, and George, as well as our ultra-marathon runner Nicola, who took on their incredible challenges to raise both funds and awareness for our small charity.
Their dedication, kindness, and determination are truly remarkable, and we cannot thank them enough for their inspiring support!
“Anna ran in our London Marathon charity spot, raising over £4,500!
“Running the London Marathon has long been a dream of mine, and the opportunity to run it for a cause that means so much to me makes it even more special. I’m running in memory of my aunty, Jo, who we sadly lost last year after a long battle with secondary breast cancer. Jo will always be an incredible inspiration to me – she faced everything with strength, grace and unwavering positivity. I’m honoured to be supporting Little Lifts, a charity that was very close to her heart, and I hope the funds I’ve raised can help bring a little bit of joy to others going through similar experiences.”
Jack ran the London Marathon, raising £2,000.
“I chose Little Lifts as you are an amazing local charity who have helped my aunty recently during her tough chemo. You are an amazing group of people and reach out to those who need ‘little lifts’ when they need them the most. I wanted to find a charity who would appreciate the support and I have felt your appreciation with great service and support throughout my training. I know the money raised reaches those who need the support most.”
Nick ran the London Marathon, raising £4,100.
“I set myself a target finish time of 4 hrs 30 mins for my very first marathon and finished in 4 hrs 38 mins 35 secs! The London Marathon was everything I expected and more. It is difficult to describe the support and levels of noise over the whole course, just so many people, plus of course all the land-marks locations and buildings of London the best of which for me was crossing London Bridge.
I can’t say I didn’t want to go quicker, I did, but I have the huge satisfaction of raising £2,600 from nearly 100 donations for the amazing local charity Little Lifts supporting women and men diagnosed with breast cancer.
In addition, we are donating £1,500 from my business Watsons Property Group. The support from friends, family, fellow runners, work colleagues, and in particular Brundall Park runners has been quite overwhelming, made more special when speaking to those who have been through breast cancer and what the Boxes Little Lifts provide have meant to them.
It has been a privilege and a pleasure to run for Little Lifts.”
George chose to support Little Lifts in 2025 but had to defer his London Marathon spot to this year. He has raised over £1,000.
“After my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2024, she received a Little Lifts Box, which brought real comfort during treatment. Supporting a charity that provides such thoughtful, practical support to people at one of the hardest points in their lives felt incredibly important to me.”
Sarah ran the Brighton Marathon, raising over £1,000.
“I chose to fundraise for Little Lifts after the sister of my best friend received one of their Boxes, just as I was beginning my marathon training. At that point, I have to admit I didn’t know much about the charity—but the more I learned, the more certain I became that I wanted to support such an incredible cause in any way I could.
As part of my fundraising, I organised a bake sale at my local Parkrun in Catton and was completely blown away by the support. The generosity of both those who donated bakes and those who came along to buy them was amazing. I also ran a ‘Norfolk Raffle’, with prizes including a signed Norwich City Football Club pennant, a print from a local artist, a massage voucher, and a 10-class yoga pass. Once again, the kindness and enthusiasm people showed was truly overwhelming.
The marathon itself was the hardest thing I’ve ever done—the hills and the wind felt relentless—but I was thrilled to achieve an 18-minute PB, finishing in 3 hours and 33 minutes. One of the most memorable moments came when a spectator spotted my Little Lifts top and called out to thank me, sharing that she had received a box herself.
The race was tough, but it pales in comparison to what the women and men supported by Little Lifts are facing. Knowing that I’ve raised enough to fill 40 Boxes is, without a doubt, my greatest achievement.”
Nicola is our ultra-marathon Runner! She ran the She Ultra, raising over £1,600.
“It was quite a challenge – not only the distance – but also the gale force winds, hail storms, and rain, plus we had decided to camp! But it was worth every effort to make a contribution to this wonderful charity that really made a difference during my cancer treatment. The effort, thought, and care that goes into their Boxes really does help lift your spirits – way more than a ‘little’. I’m so happy to be able to say thank you to Little Lifts, their volunteers, and to everyone who so very generously donated to the fundraise.”
