Top Tips: Curated support and resources

Pink Ribbon

Recently we had the pleasure of welcoming Lisa and Jonathan from The Pink Foundation to Little Lifts HQ. The Pink Ribbon Foundation is a grant making trust with a mission to provide financial support to UK charities which support people affected by breast cancer.

We’ve been working with The Pink Ribbon Foundation since 2019, they kindly fund our chemotherapy room so we couldn’t wait to give them a tour and get them box packing!

We asked Lisa what it was like spending the day with us:

Who you are and where you are from?

Jonathan Prince (Chair of Trustees) and Lisa (Head of Corporate Partnerships, Events and PR) at the Pink Ribbon Foundation.

Your involvement with Little Lifts

The Pink Ribbon Foundation have supported Little Lifts for a number of years with an annual grant.  This money has helped to fund the packing room which is vital to the success of the charity as it is the hub of activity and the place where the chemo boxes are lovingly packed for those affected by breast cancer.

What was your day like with the Little Lifts team?

It was lovely for the Pink Ribbon Foundation to spend a day with the team at Little Lifts.  It gave an insight in to the day-to-day running of the charity and the wonderful team and volunteers who run it.  We were shown around the building and given an insight into the future plans for the space.  After tea and a wonderful lunch we were set to work packing the Little Lifts boxes.

What did you enjoy about the box packing?

It was great to see the kind of items that go into each box and the method for packing, which ensures that the box arrives with it’s recipient in such a way that it is received as a gift, rather than just a collection of useful items.  Real care is taken at every stage and it was an honour to help, knowing that someone was going to receive boxes that we had packed personally (and signed).

Why is the work you do so important?

As a grant making Trust the Pink Ribbon Foundation are able to help many charities all over the UK, funding frontline services and giving care and support to women (and a small percentage of men) affected by breast cancer.  The Foundation has very little infrastructure, operating almost as a virtual charity – this means that more of the money that we raise, goes to the charities and organisations that need it.  More information can be found at www.pinkribbonfoundation.org.uk
