Putting the P into Party: The New Homes Group’s First Packing Party

The New Homes Group in Colchester put on their party hats and welcomed Sophie, Lizzie, and our Champion Claire for a Packing Party with a difference.

On Wednesday 8th July, we ran five packing sessions for 100 staff members, who heard directly from Claire about her breast cancer diagnosis and the support Little Lifts provided her along the way. The team had organised our first-ever fully party-themed day — a bright pink balloon arch, pizza, cakes, and no shortage of team spirit! By the end of the day, the team had packed an incredible 362 gift Boxes for people about to begin radiotherapy or recovering from breast cancer surgery.

A partnership built on care

The New Homes Group is a very special partner of ours, and their UK-wide offices have welcomed Little Lifts with open arms. As the UK’s leading Part Exchange and Assisted Move service provider, they bring 35 years of industry experience — and, as it turns out, just as much heart.

In 2025, they took part in our Corporate Challenge 250, helping us raise a staggering £39,000 to support more people affected by breast cancer. This year, they’ve entered seven teams across the UK for the challenge, and we can’t wait to see what fundraising ideas they come up with next.

Zoe Sturgess, Managing Director, TNHG Property Services, said:

“It was fantastic to see so many colleagues come together to support Little Lifts, with around 100 people helping to pack an incredible 362 boxes throughout the day. Hearing Claire speak so openly about her experience of breast cancer brought home just how meaningful each box can be to someone going through treatment.

There was a real sense of energy and teamwork across every session, with many colleagues choosing to come back and help again. From packing the boxes to the mammoth effort involved in unloading and reloading everything, everyone played their part. It was a genuinely inspiring day and has given us great momentum for our future fundraising.”

Party vibes, box by box

The day was full of laughter, energy, and genuine compassion for what we’re trying to achieve. One of the standout moments came right at the end, when the whole team formed a human chain across the office to carry all 362 boxes down to our van, Joy, ready for delivery.

This is the first of many Packing Parties we’ll be holding with The New Homes Group — and we honestly can’t wait for the next one.

Why corporate support matters

Little Lifts provides carefully curated care Boxes to people undergoing breast cancer treatment across the UK, each one packed with items to help ease the emotional and physical side effects that come with it. This year our target is to send out 14,175 Boxes, and with the support of businesses like The New Homes Group, we can make sure no one faces breast cancer alone.

Behind every Box is a person we hope feels a little more prepared, supported, and loved as they begin treatment. As a small charity, we’re incredibly proud of this partnership — and the difference it’s already making to people affected by breast cancer.
