Six Teams, One Goal: How Corporate Challenge 250 Raised £50,000 for Breast Cancer Support

Our Corporate Challenge 250 teams finished their fundraising for 2024 and we were astonished with the funds raised to support people affected by breast cancer.

Today we are celebrating the incredible teams who have worked together to help us support more people affected by breast cancer.

A huge well done to our hardworking teams from Aviva; The Heavy Lifters, Boobs Mean Business and The Lovely Jubblies, Sinclair, Saxon Air and Rogers & Norton Solicitors who took on fundraisers from bake sales, masquerade balls and abseiling to ultra marathons, firewalks and hikes!

Our teams gave up hours of their time raising vital awareness and funds for our small charity, proving what can happen with £250, creativity, teamwork, and a lot of determination!

With an overall event target of £15,000 (or £2,500 per team) our teams exceeded expectations raising £50,000. By smashing their targets, these teams demonstrated the potential of corporate led fundraising efforts.

A wonderful example that a little kindness can go a long way! Proving what we can do when amazing people come together to support a common cause.

“Taking part in the Little Lifts Corporate Challenge 250 was a personal journey for me, I chose to get involved because watching family (my Mother-in-Law) and friend (Alice Whittaker) battle this relentless disease has been heart-wrenching. By participating, I wanted to honour their courage and resilience, and show my unwavering support.

I am incredibly proud of the collective efforts our team put into raising funds, here is a glimpse of what we did:

  • Charity bake sale – the team came together to whip up some delicious treats
  • Numerous raffles – we held an office raffle as well as a raffles at the masquerade ball, gin, wine tasting events and pub quiz where we had some exciting prizes generously donated by local businesses
  • Gin and wine tasting events – The Wine Press and Adnams kindly donated time and a place for us to hold these events and also donated prizes to our raffle
  • Netball and football tournament – we organised a netball and football tournament, encouraging staff members to get active for a good cause, they were also able to use their volunteering time to take part
  • Pub quiz – both Aviva and non-Aviva could take part and test their knowledge in the pub quiz
  • Masquerade ball – a chance to dress up and don a mask and dance the night away

I loved taking part in the Little Lifts Corporate Challenge 250 because it allowed me to make a meaningful impact, honour those affected by breast cancer, and experience the incredible sense of teamwork with my fellow teammates.

Participating in the Little Lifts Corporate Challenge 250 is a fantastic opportunity for companies to come together and support a meaningful cause. The challenge encourages teamwork and collaboration fostering a sense of unity and camaraderie within the business. Participation also helps fund essential care packages that bring comfort and positivity to those in need.” – Sharon Rodwell

“I am beyond proud that we raised over £16k by hosting a Firewalk, bake sales, bottle raffles, a mini zumbathon, sweepstake and a blanket raffle.

When the challenge commenced in April, most of these ladies were complete strangers and now I can consider them friends. We will be bonded forever with this incredible achievement.

Huge thank you to Anya-Lee Temple and Shopie Houghton-Hood for all of their support and time, helping with logistics and crazy questions.

Thank you to every single person who supported us and helped us raise a phenomenal amount.

Also to Aviva Investors/Aviva for our 21 hours of volunteering time and the £ matching scheme which helped boost our total.

This is by far one of the best achievements of my life.
If anyone is thinking of taking part this year then brainstorm some ideas and get cracking.” – Caitlyn Winsor-Gray

“When I started this adventure I was ready to give it my all but I gained so much more than I gave. I met amazing people with amazing stories, I got to push myself to try things I never dreamt I would including abseiling, fire walk and walking on broken glass.  Most importantly we raised awareness of a most horrid disease and a most wonderful charity that helps to bring a bit of happiness at a time when people need it most.” – Christina Land

This  amazing array of fundraising events were celebrated at our Challenge 250 2024 Awards! We held our awards at Little Lifts HQ, which was a wonderful opportunity to spend time with our teams, whilst they got a look behind the scenes. Our teams were presented awards by our Founder, Oa, heard from our beneficiary Sharon and even packed some Little Lifts Gift Boxes!

The Impact of Fundraising Support

Little Lifts provides carefully curated gift Boxes to people receiving breast cancer treatment across the UK. Our Boxes are jam-packed with items to help alleviate the emotional and physical side effects of treatment.

With the support of these amazing corporates we can gift 757 Chemotherapy Boxes or over 1,100 Radiotherapy Boxes. Behind each Box is a person, we hope feels more prepared, supported and loved as they begin treatment for breast cancer.

As a small charity this final total is remarkable and will to make a huge difference!

The Power of Corporate Fundraising

We cannot thank these wonderful corporate teams enough for their support both during Challenge 250 and beyond!

The success of the Corporate Challenge 250 is a testament to the power of corporate philanthropy. Six teams, £250 each in seed funding, and a whole lot of determination led to a £50,000 fundraising total for breast cancer support. This incredible achievement is a brilliant example of how corporates can come together to support causes and make a real difference.

We are now looking for corporates to get involved for our 2025 challenge and we would love to tell you more, so please get in touch by emailing events@littlelifts.org.uk.
