Poultec – 3 Peaks Challenge

What an incredible fundraiser! A group from Poultec Training Limited - our platinum sponsor - took on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge and raised a phenomenal £7,726!

The team at Poultec had no doubts about completing the challenge in aid of Little Lifts following a speech from our founder Oa, where she spoke about her experience of breast cancer and how it led to starting Little Lifts. They were blown away by her sheer passion, ambition and kindness. Every participant from the group signed up to the challenge in honour of family members, friends and colleagues who have had or are currently going through breast cancer treatment. They received a staggering 349 donations collectively.

This immense challenge required months of preparation, hard work and training as most had never taken on a physical challenge like this. However, Georgia said: ‘No amount of training would have prepared me for the amount of physical and mental strength needed for this.’

They recall quickly realising how flat and smooth their familiar Norfolk terrain was in comparison, making their hill climb and descents a little more difficult than they could have imagined. Pen y Ghent was the first peak at 694m, followed by Whernside at 736m, and finally, Ingleborough at 724m. Hannah said ‘it was beautiful and hellish but we made it.’

The team said it was hard work for them all at times but the breathtaking views, supportive team and food/drink stations throughout made the whole thing possible. Nic said ‘without our love and support for each other we really wouldn’t have got through it.’

‘The 24.5 mile walk was the most incredible, thrilling, amazing, unreal and rewarding experience! Lots of us are feeling broken but we’re very proud that we all physically and mentally smashed it!’

We cannot thank you all enough for the huge impact you have made to support more people with breast cancer. A massive congratulations to you all for this fantastic achievement.
