Claire’s breast cancer diagnosis and treatment
Claire was diagnosed with invasive lobular grade 2 breast cancer in 2025. Claire underwent a lumpectomy, sentinel lymph node biopsy, genetic testing and radiotherapy.
What Claire said about her gift Box:
When Claire received her Radiotherapy Box, she felt ‘happy and pampered’, highlighting the thoughtfulness of the curated products. She said: ‘Your Boxes make a big difference. It’s great to receive a little bit of love and pampering whilst going through treatment!’
More about Claire:
Claire lives in West Sussex with her husband of 25 years and has three lovely children – Ben (23), Will (21) and Lucy (18). They were all born in their house, which they moved into before we got married! She loves baking, sweet treats and fashion!
When a client of her dressmaking company asked her for headwear to cover her hair loss from chemotherapy, Claire noticed a need for well-made, well-fitting headwear in a variety of sizes, easy to put on, and made from soft, natural fabrics for people experiencing hair loss. So, she used her love for fashion and textiles to start Chemo Headwear. Claire says: ‘I love my job and receive so many lovely messages from people.’
Claire and Little Lifts:
A few years ago, during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we were delighted to team up with Claire to create a special-edition turban featuring an adorable pink polka-dot design. The ‘Hilary Pink Spot Turban’ is available from Chemo Headwear, where £5 from every sale is kindly donated to Little Lifts. This special design has been dedicated to our Founder, Oa’s wonderful Auntie, Hilary.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience with others and for helping spread support and kindness, Claire.
