Little Lifts breast cancer gift box beneficiary Suzanne

Suzanne’s Breast Cancer Story

Say hello to wonderful Suzanne who received a Little Lifts Chemotherapy Box and a Radiotherapy Box via our hospital partner.

Suzanne’s breast cancer diagnosis and treatment

Suzanne was diagnosed with two breast cancers on Valentines Day 2023, one of which was detected on her very first mammogram and the second was picked up in the same breast during further investigations with an ultrasound scan. Due to having two different types of cancer, Suzanne underwent several different types of treatment at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital which included a mastectomy, an operation to have an axillary lymph node clearance, chemotherapy, Herceptin injections and then lastly, radiotherapy in 2024. She received her Little Lifts Chemotherapy Box in 2023 and her Little Lifts Radiotherapy Box in 2024.

After receiving her breast cancer gift Box Suzanne said:

‘My Box gave me so many happy thoughts, I felt seen, I felt emotional when I first opened my Box and saw all of the amazing products donated to help me feel a little bit better. I felt others understood what I was going through and the associated side effects of the treatment and how items in the Box would help me. It put a very big smile on my face.

I loved everything about my Box and how so many different products would help with so many different side effects. The MooGoo cream and deodorant was especially helpful through my radiotherapy treatment and I have continued to use the cream.

Your work is an inspiration, and has helped so many, more than you can know.’

Suzanne’s Top Tips for breast cancer:
  • Take one day at a time, you will get there!
  • Gentle exercise, I found a short slow paced daily walk outside did me the world of good and was great for my mental health too.
  • Reach out to friends for support and a gossip. Eating healthy is great but eat a little bit of what you fancy too.
  • The Big C was great and offered lots of support, a listening ear, a cuppa but also treatments to help you relax and feel good.
